Netpigs policy

Netpigs is free, anyone can access it via a standard web browser and play anytime 7 days 7, 24 hours a day.
The only requirement is the respect of rules of the game.

I developed Netpigs for fun and to provide a free resource that (in the days when I had the idea) was not in the network: I was inspired by the classic game "Risk" (trying to keep the necessary distance for not run into copyright issues) in order to create a game version that does not require to stay connected all the time
Rankings, tournaments, HOF, heralds and the many functions are often developed on the request of the players, and I always try to develop it under certain minimum standards of "usability".

The developement work is voluntary, there are no sponsors: the only possible revenue is the user donations, and for now it just covers the cost of the server.

I developed Netpigs with the support of two assistants (for free, of course): Francesco (Keis) who made all the drawings, and Matteo Molinaro (Saiborg) as technical support and developer of some functions

I took advantage of some free resources available on the web:

• Jquery and JqueryUI for most of the client-side script
• TinyMCE and HTMLpurifier for posts on the forum
• jQuery lightBox plugin by Leandro Vieira Pinho to zoom screenshots
• The sound effects are offered by Alastair Cameron, CameronMusic and PacDV free sound effects

You can help Netpigs by making a donation with which you will receive Doubloons which allow you to activate the Services for Supporters.

The services activated with Doubloons improve the gaming experience without giving special advantages that might influence the outcome of the games

Receiving Doubloons in exchange of the donation is an incentive to voluntarily contribute to the development and maintenance of Netpigs, but is not a sale. So who makes a voluntary donation is not entitled to reimbursement in the event of malfunction or interruption of service, or special treatments that are not specified in the Services for Supporters you are going to activate.

The Netpigs Staff ensures maximum transparency and the necessary support so that the transaction is successful.

Under current laws on the protection of persons and other subjects regarding the processing of personal data, the processing of information that users of Netpigs site shall follow principles of correctness, lawfulness and transparency, protecting their confidentiality and their rights.

You can choose when and how Netpigs can contact you in order to alert you for the various events of the game.
Sometimes it may be sent emails in order to update users about important news and events that affect the game.

Each of these updates can be enabled or disabled from the Preferences page.
